How to Identify Pallet Racking

time2011/10/18

Pallet racking is a storage system using naked girders to store pallets of goods, placing them on a shelf for easy access and convenience. To identify pallet racking, you need use nothing more complex than your eyes, adjudicating to determine whether a pallet or pallets will fit securely in the system. There are a number of different kinds of pallet racking.
Examine the area to see whether it is designed for drive-in pallet stacking. This involves a framework of girders designed atop one another to support multiple tiers of pallets atop one another.
Check to see whether the racking system supports push-back pallet racking. This also supports multiple tiers of pallets, but instead of stacking them atop one another they are stacked behind one another.
Examine to see whether selective pallet racking is used. This is a girder system in which pallets are all individually exposed so any one can be taken at one time without disturbing the others.
